Polynesian Shark and Ray guide edition
Iconic animals of French Polynesia, where they represent the symbol of many families, sharks are intriguing fish and predators of the oceans that however remain poorly understood.
Our friends at the Polynesian Shark Observatory, in collaboration with the French Polynesian Department of the Environment, have been working since 2011 to educate the general public about sharks and rays.
The aim of this guide is to educate children between 8 and 13 years of age about the most common species of sharks and rays in Polynesian waters. The guide highlights their diet, mode of reproduction and most remarkable morphological characteristics.
